During the festival, attendees at our luxury resort will have the opportunity to participate in a wine tasting, a crafted cocktail demonstration and a tequila seminar.
This year, we will be serving wines from Hacienda la Lomita Winery and Wagner Family of Wine throughout the festival. During the tastings, the master sommeliers from these wineries will teach you about the blends, flavors and process of making Mexican wines. This will give you an opportunity to taste four different types of Mexican wines.
Hacienda La Lomita is located in Mexico’s wine region, 15 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, a little after San Antonio de Las Minas and between the San Marcos Hills; it was built by moving rocks from one place to another. It is an enological entrepreneurship that opened its doors during the 2009 Harvest Festival. La Lomita is about family, dreams and noble transgressions.
Charlie Wagner II is a 5th generation Napa Valley winemaker. He was named after his late grandfather, Charlie Wagner, one of the founders of Caymus Vineyards. Charlie II began learning about Chardonnay wine production when he was just 17 years of age. By the 2004 vintage of Mer Soleil, he had control of production. This winery is based on two Chardonnay wines – a barrel fermented version and a unoaked wine called "Silver," which is fermented and aged in small natural cement tanks imported from France. Charlie Wagner II continues to develop the techniques that best suit grapes grown in the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation of Monterey County.
A Maestro Tequilero will explain the process of making tequila, share the history and regions of tequila, and teach you what makes exceptional tequila. The maestro will describe the differences between the three different types of tequilas participants will taste.
Each year our chef and wine sommelier personally select the best tequila maker and wine makers in the country to come to the resort and educate our participants.
Crafted Cocktail Demonstration
We are adding a new class to our lineup this year. Mixologist Ulysses Vidal from Employees Only in New York City will be creating hand crafted spirits influenced by the 20s and 30s era.
