Revisit the Golden Age of Cuba at Bob’s Bar
Through cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages created by cocktail consultants, Proof & Company, guests will be able to explore the rich flavours, colours and spirits of the West Indies and this remarkable period. New cocktails include an emphasis on rum-based cocktails, but enough variety of spirits and styles to present a complete menu and cater to a broad range of tastes. There will be an emphasis on super-premium, internationally-respected spirits and only fresh, pressed-to-order juices will be used to evoke a fresh tropical feel.
New cocktails include signature drinks such as Bob’s Fresh Press Mojito which is created using Plantation 3 Star White Rum, fresh-press lime juice, fresh-pressed sugar cane juice, aquaponic fresh mint leaves and garnished with a freshly grilled sugar cane stick, lime wheel and mint sprig. Unlike other mojitos, the Bob’s Fresh Press Mojito is created with freshly-pressed sugar cane juice that is created on demand using a traditional sugar cane press as well as traditional premium Caribbean rum.
Another delicious rum-based cocktail guests can enjoy is the Six Star Swizzle. Created with Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Rum, Cedilla Acai Liqueur, Housemade Fort Canning spice garden syrup, Angostura bitters and hand-pressed fruits such as pineapple, mango, star fruit and lime, this vibrantly coloured cocktail is sweet and refreshing. The cocktail is also aesthetically pleasing with the star fruit pieces dyed with natural dragonfruit dye lining the inside of the glass.
The experience is further accentuated by the appointment of regional jazz celebrity Jeremy Monteiro and his Latin Jazz Trio who will play Latin Jazz, adding the final definitive touches. With more than 30 albums under his belt and conferred the “Lifting Up The World With A Oneness-Heart” lifetime achievement award by the late Sri Chinmoy, leader of the interfaith Peace Meditation at the UN, Jeremy has been appointed to numerous distinguished boards and councils. The Jeremy Monteiro Latin Jazz Trio will be playing every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting 2 April 2014.
Of making Bob’s Bar his new musical home in Singapore during the weekdays, when he is not touring the world’s premier stages like the London Jazz Festival or popular jazz venues around the world, Jeremy Monteiro shares, “I am really excited about a residency where I get to play Latin Jazz; a genre so close to my heart since my highest selling album is a Bossa-Nova/Samba CD, “The Girl From Ipanema” which allowed me to reach out to a whole different audience. We will all feel like we’ve been transported to a gorgeous South American beach, except that we’ll be right here in Singapore!”
