Capella Singapore raises the bar with its own chocolates and bespoke tea

Singapore, 15 June 2012 – Anticipated to be the most exclusive indulgences in the island nation, Capella Singapore announces the launch of the Capella Collection Chocolate and the Capella Constellation Tea.

 

The Capella Chocolate Collection

Available only in Singapore, the Capella Chocolate Collection features six unique flavours that have been carefully paired and hand-crafted, offering connoisseurs an epicurean experience through the use of the finest cocoa and natural ingredients.

The Capella Chocolate Collection is comprised of 24-pieces of handmade, preservative-free, chocolate Bon Bons nestled in an elegant re-useable custom-designed case, resembling that of an ornate jewellery box. To ensure absolute freshness, each and every piece of the collection is created only on receipt of order by Capella’s pastry team.

More than 20 different varieties of ingredients and blends of the finest chocolates were meticulously tasted and tested in combination with fresh fruit and natural essences to create Capella Chocolates.

Intrinsically Singaporean flavours have been used such as Kueh Lapis Spice with Coffee & Prune Jelly, Raspberry Lemongrass with Chili Padi and Kalamansi Manjari Ganache to bring you on a sensorial journey through post-colonial Singapore. The rich flavours of our Kueh Lapis Bon Bon are reminiscent of the aromatic confectionary created in the large homes of Singapore’s own Straits-born Chinese, the Peranakan.  Similarly, the light tangy blend of the Raspberry Lemongrass with Chili Padi Bon Bon evokes memories of the rich spicy flavours of Malay heritage cooking.  The Kalamansi Manjari Ganache, Kalamansi meaning lime, is light and refreshing to the palate, as a tall glass of minuman kalamansi (lime juice) is on a warm tropical day.

Perfectly complementing the Kalamansi Manjari Ganache is Capella’s own bespoke blend of tea, Constellation Tea, created by the gourmet tea purveyor, Gryphon Tea Company.

Constellation Tea

Exclusively crafted by master tea blender and founder of Gryphon Tea Company, Mr Lim Tian Wee, the Capella Constellation Tea comprises a delicate blend of Darjeeling white tea with rosehips, grapes and a sprinkle of gold dust.

Prized for its rarity, the white tea is sourced from only the highest-grown plantation in Darjeeling, India, ensuring not only the highest quality of the tea leaves but also a sweet, smoother finish to the tea.  Muscat grapes were specially selected to deliver a long and sweet finish while the blend of rose hips and orange blossoms pack a subtle tartness.

The Capella Constellation Tea is a true experience for all the senses. The bespoke tea emanates a delicate refreshing fruity aroma and is visually appealing with a sprinkling of edible gold dust, inspired by the Auriga constellation of which the Capella star is the brightest.
