Renwick Gallery

Expand your horizons with the many art exhibitions featured in Washington, D.C. The Renwick Gallery is a brand new collection of contemporary craft and decorative art with one of the finest and most extensive collections of its kind, and is now home to the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s collection. The Renwick building is the first ever displayed collection of Second Empire architecture in America. The opening exhibition titled, “WONDER” features nine major contemporary artists. Gather together with your family and friends take part in our annual Capella Easter Egg Hunt! One golden egg will be placed in a unique location in Washington, D.C., every weekend, the four weeks leading to Easter Sunday on March 27th, 2016. Your mission is to keep a look out for a photo clue on our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram every Sunday morning at 9am, which will give you a hint to where the golden Easter egg will be hidden. Once you’ve located the Golden Easter Egg, take a photo at the location and share your photo with us via FacebookTwitter or Instagram and be sure to use the hashtag #CapellaEasterEggHunt and tag us @CapellaDC to win! Once you open the Golden Egg you will find a contact number, call this number and one of our Capella D.C. service professionals will reveal your winning prize.

The Washington Ballet

Capella Washington, D.C. has an exclusive partnership with the Washington Ballet, creating an experience to remember for our guests. You and your family will receive four tickets to The Nutcracker, a backstage tour at the Warner Theater and a chance to have an extremely rare adult/child walk-on role in the ballet. Should you prefer to appreciate the art rather than take part in it, Capella Washington, D.C. can offer you the Dance Studio Insider, granting complimentary access to the Washington Ballet open rehearsal events. The Washington Harbor Ice Rink

Tis the season to be jolly!  Stay active this winter season at D.C.’s largest outdoor ice skating venue. At 11,800 sq. feet, the Washington Harbor Ice Rink in Georgetown offers a picturesque view of the Potomac River and is beautifully lit with holiday lights. Skate to your heart’s content through March.

The Washington Harbor Ice Rink hosts weekly skating events including:

  • Two for Tuesday Skate: 2 for 1 Admissions on Tuesday from 4 – 6pm
  • College Night Skate: Every Thursday, receive $2 off admission with a valid college ID
  • Cartoon Skate: Every Saturday morning from 10am – 12pm
  • Rock N’ Skate: Every Saturday night from 8 – 10pm

Whether you’re new to skating or advanced, ice skating lessons are available. Starting from ages three and up for all skill levels, The Washington Harbor proudly uses the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program for its class curriculum.

At the Farmer's Market at Capella, guests and locals can expect to see fresh blackberries, eggplant, cucumbers, seasonal tomatoes, and so much more! You will find the Farmer's Market right outside our property, next to the historic C&O Canal. Due to the Fall/Winter season, the Capella Farmers' Market will return in the Spring.

Our partnership with Northern Neck Farms comes with over 50 years of history. Northern Neck is located in the agriculturally rich region of Virginia, and Award-Winning Executive Chef, Frank Ruta, features a seasonal menu and ingredients sourced from the best local and regional farms of Northern Neck.

Join Capella Washington, D.C., Georgetown as we step into our fitness series! As we celebrate the end of summer, we welcome health and wellness being a driving force to help getting into the best version of ourselves. 

Fitness apparel pop-up shops will take place once a month along with a variety of different fitness classes, ranging from practicing yoga on our Rooftop, to a spin cycling demo, to a fitness training club. 

To complement the fitness series, Executive Chef Frank Ruta has created signature juices that can be found in The Grill Room and on our Rooftop Bar & Lounge. Let's get healthy together!
