The vibrant yet quaint Charoenkrung Road has evolved over time. Hole-in-the-wall street food joints, managed by local families for generations, are interlaced with trendy art galleries, modern bars and Michelin-worthy restaurants. The Thailand Creative & Design Center (or TCDC) was relocated to Charoenkrung in 2017, resulting in a surge of new openings targeting this creative audience. This steady evolution and culmination of old and new has led to many terming the street ‘Bangkok’s Soho,’ as it exudes a chilled-out atmosphere and endless sources of inspiration.

After jumping on a boat to ride to the other side of the river, you will reach Charoennakorn Road, which nudges Bangkok’s charming Thonbori neighbourhood, home to a slew of luxury hotels and condos. Here, the Capella Culturist will guide you to ‘the Temple of Dawn,’ or Wat Arun, one of the most beautiful temples in the city and an iconic landmark on the Chao Phraya river. You’ll also explore the Thonburi canals (khlongs) by boat, gliding through traditional floating markets.
