Mr. Nicholas Matthew Clayton
Mr. Nicholas Matthew Clayton is the Chief Executive Officer of Capella Hotel Group. A visionary leader with a proven track record, Mr. Clayton leads the Capella Hotel Group in its continuous global expansion plan since his appointment in 2015.
Mr. Clayton’s solid foundation in the operation and development of luxury hotels is built upon three decades of an illustrious career with some of the world’s most respectable brands such as Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons. His professional journey has taken him across the Americas, Middle East, Europe and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Capella, Mr. Clayton’s recent appointments were Chief Executive Officer, Operations of the Jumeirah Group and President of the Viceroy Hotel Group.
Mr. K.C. Moy
Mr. K.C. Moy serves in the Executive Management Committee and Board, as a Secretary member of Capella Hotel Group.
Mr. Moy has been instrumental in overseeing the development and growth of the company’s portfolio in Asia since 2009 when he joined Capella Hotel Group. His responsibilities extends to operational ramp-up of the properties, quality assurance and risk management.
Mr. Moy previously held senior positions in real estate investment and asset management companies. Prior to Capella Hotel Group, he was the Managing Director and Board Member of General Electric Capital, Southeast Asia. Mr. Moy holds degrees in Law and Economics.
Mr. Samuel M. Ding
Mr. Samuel Ding oversees the creative direction, key aspects of design and construction of all Capella-managed hotels. Since joining Capella Hotel Group in 2008, he was keenly involved in the successful opening of the flagship Capella Singapore in 2009. Under his unstinting leadership and commitment to design excellence, he continues to play key roles in the development and expansion of the group’s luxury hotel portfolio.
Previously, in his 20-year architectural career, Mr. Ding was a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has held prominent roles in design directorship and senior positions at the RTKL and SRSS in USA and Singapore. His projects spanned the regions of North and South America, the Middle East and Asia, garnering awards from FIABCI Prix d’Excellence and URA Architectural Heritage Award Singapore.
Mr. Poh Hock Leong
Mr. Poh Hock Leong was appointed Vice President, Technical Services of the Capella Hotel Group in 2010. In his capacity, he safeguards the technical standards and operational requirements for all Capella managed hotels.
Mr. Poh has amassed a rich experience in the hotel industry since 1984, his experience ranges from technical service, pre-opening exercise and daily operations with international hotel brands. During his 6 years in Shanghai, he oversaw the technical and engineering matters for the all Starwood-managed hotels in China. Notable projects include the implementation of Environmental Sustainability, Energy Conservation and Six Sigma Quality Program.
Prior to joining Capella Hotel Group, Mr. Poh was the Regional Hotel Engineer and the Senior Manager, Design & Technical Services for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Greater China.
Mr. Andreas Kohn
In June 2016, Mr. Andreas Kohn was appointed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Capella Hotel Group. This newly created position supports Capella Hotel Group’s rapid global expansion plans with the upcoming debut of landmark hotels in major gateway destinations.
Mr. Kohn brings with him over 20 years of sales and marketing leadership experience spanning across key markets in Central Europe, Middle East and South East Asia. With a proven track record at luxury hotel brands like Ritz Carlton, Viceroy, Mandarin Oriental and JW Marriott, Mr. Kohn plays a vital role in formulating Capella Hotel Group’s Sales, Marketing and Distribution strategy. Before joining Capella, Mr. Kohn served as the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore.
Ms. Jacinta Soh
Ms. Jacinta Soh is the Vice President of Human Resources at Capella Hotel Group. Ms. Soh is responsible for developing the company-wide core processes for talent selection, orientation and training & development to establish Capella Hotel Group as best in class in the Human Resources discipline.
Ms. Soh begins her career in conference services before sparking a new passion for human resources. In a span of 12 years, Ms. Soh has implemented remarkable projects mainly in restructuring and pre-openings of hotels. Her professional journey has brought her to work with reputable brands namely Conrad, Shangri-la, Fullerton, Four Seasons, Pan Pacific and Six Senses. Prior to joining Capella, Ms. Soh served as the Director of Human Resources at the Six Senses Hotels & Resorts, pre-openings.
Dr. Mei Ping
Dr. Mei Ping was appointed as the Chief Representative - China, for Capella Hotel Group in 2014. Dr. Mei is responsible for the business development projects for Capella Hotel Group’s China portfolio. Her responsibility includes aligning the company’s brand strategy to the needs of the Chinese market.
A professional architect with a PhD in Art, Dr. Mei is a specialist in luxury property development and has worked as a lead consultant and an owner’s representative in China since 2003. Under her leadership, Dr. Mei established a consultancy firm specialising in 5-star hospitality and historical preservation with investment and asset management service. Her signature projects include Shanghai Tianzifang and Zhujiajiao Ahn Luh luxury hotel.
Dr. Mei’s previous position was working alongside hospitality icon Mr Robert H. Burns in the Chinese market.

Guy Harvey-Samuel is an Independent Director of JTC Corporation and serves as Member of the Board of Surbana Jurong Private Limited, Wing Tai Holdings Ltd, Mapletree Industrial Trust Management Ltd, M1Limited and Capella Hotel Group Pte Ltd. Mr Harvey-Samuel serves in the community as a Justice of the Peace. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Youth Achievement Awards, he sits on the National Arts Council and the National Parks Board (Chairman of the Audit Committee) and is also Vice Chairman of the Community Chest Committee.
Mr Harvey-Samuel spent the majority of his career working with HSBC Group and worked in 12 countries across the world, undertaking senior management roles in Australia, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. He retired in 2017 as Group General Manager, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Singapore, and had previously served as HSBC’s Group General Manager and Head of International, Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong. Mr Harvey-Samuel was a long time member of the Asia Executive Committee and, after retiring, was non-executive Chairman of HSBC (Singapore) Ltd. until October 2018.
Evan Kwee spent nine years leading the business development arm of Pontiac Land Group, an $8 billion private real estate developer in Singapore. He oversees the development efforts for the Capella Hotel Group and heads up product development for the group working closely with clients, architects and engineers to ensure design excellence while creating innovative but also profitable products.
STEPHEN LEE CHING YEN
Mr. Lee is the Chairman of Shanghai Commercial Bank (Hong Kong), Tripartite Alliance Ltd and Deputy Chairman of M+S Pte Ltd. He is Managing Director of Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank Ltd (Taipei) and GMT Investments Pts Ltd. Mr. Lee is currently a Board Director of Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd, CapitalLand Ltd, Singapore Labour Foundation, Kidney Dialysis Foundation, Marina South Investments Pte Ltd, Ophir-Rochor Investments and MS Property Management. He is also appointed as Member of Council of Presidential Advisers, a Member of NTUC-ARU Board of Trustee and the Chancellor of Singapore University of Social Sciences.
Mr. Lee was the President of the Singapore National Employers Federation, Chairman of Singapore Airlines and SIA Engineering Company Ltd. and Chairman of NTUC Income Insurance Cooperative Ltd. Mr. Lee was awarded the Beijing’s Friendship Awards to Foreign Experts in 2007, the Singapore Distinguished Service Order in 2006, the Singapore Public Service Star in 1998 and the Distinguished Comrade of Labour in 2015. He was also conferred one of Singapore’s highest state awards, Order of Nila Utama (First Class) in 2015.
Mr. Poullet is the Chairman Asia for Burgess. His role is to provide guidance on the company’s developments in the region and to help coordinate key client relationships. Prior his appointment with Burgess, Mr. Poullet retired as Senior Partner of global business advisory firm McKinsey & Co. Currently based in Singapore, Mr. Poullet has been in Asia since 1993 and has more than 20 years experience advising leading Asian business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Philip is the Chief Operating Officer of Pontiac Land Private Limited, a privately-held Singapore-based real estate company with a diversified international portfolio. Prior to joining Pontiac Land, Philip was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, and also worked for Singtel. He has a Master of Arts (Law) from the University of Cambridge.
Ker-Wei Kwee is Senior Vice President of Investments at Pontiac Land Group, focusing on the group's new development projects across the hospitality, residential, and commercial space. Prior to Pontiac Land Group, Ker-Wei was with Hines, a Houston-based real estate company, in its San Francisco regional office.
Ker-Wei is also a management committee member of the Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (REDAS). He holds a BA in International Relations and a MBA from Stanford University.
Mr. Ronald Issen is Managing Director, Issen & Company with experience in the gaming/hospitality, real estate, private education and commodities/infrastructure sectors having spent more than 15 years in Asia in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Macao. He is a past Senior Advisor with Apollo Global Management LLC, and has served as a non-independent board member of both HKSE and SGX listed companies.
He is a former member of the Executive Management Committee of Hong Kong-headquartered eSun Holdings Limited (Lai Sun Group), a leading Hong Kong based hotel owner/property developer and Chinese-language film and live entertainment group. Earlier, Mr. Issen spent more than 10 years as a senior banking executive in project finance and government advisory with then-Banque Indosuez (now part of Credit Agricole) in Europe and Asia, having begun his career Smith Barney (now part of Citigroup) and with the Boston Consulting Group. He holds an MBA from Stanford University.
